Technology illiterates...

So, as I wrote some time ago the "Colegio de Psicólogos" is going to screen a movie and make an analysis of the movie by two psychologists, the movie that we choose was Lolita from Stanley Kubrick, the point here is that the manager of the theater said that the movie had to be in Blu Ray, but who knows is a blu ray? Well, you might say that most people, but here it is different.

I had to try at least in three or four different occasions to explain what it was before giving up, I made analogies like x = y like w = z, but it was too much for some to understand it, I tried just saying that it was like a dvd but newer, I tried with other forms but it seemed like talking with a kid, they just didn't understand.

I don't know if this had anything to do with something that happened today, but I wouldn't discard it. Sergio and I went to Las Misiones to hang out and we got to Sanborns, some weeks ago we saw a collection of Stanley Kubrick movies and some of the movies could be used at the "Colegio" for future events or other things, well, the problem was that when my boss went to buy it it was already sold out.

When Sergio and I went there we asked if they had it again, but they didn't, I asked if they had Lolita in Blu Ray and it was there, but before buying it I called my boss to ask her if anyone hadn't already bought it, unfortunately she told me that they decided to get it on DVD and they didn't had it in that format because it was easier to watch or something like that, I don't remember the exact words, but going from a blu ray to dvd just because you don't understand what it is is silly... or dumb, I don't know, it was ridiculous, but whatever it is their decision.

P.S.
If you guys can and want to see it, it will be screened this october 15 in Las Misiones at 9:00 a.m. (I know it is way to early, but there was no other option) and the tickets will be 50 pesos per ticket.

  1. yes, i remember when the dvds first came out and trying to explain the difference to people was impossible.....i imagine bluray and dvd is even harder because they are both discs....

  2. just say: Bluray > DVD
lol jk, I know that wouldn't suffice. But yeah. And I would like to go to that, we'll see if we're able to :)
