Today while going to the SAT (Servicio de Administracion Tributaria) a guy got in the bus, I didn't notice him until a song finished from my cellphone (you know how long it can take for a song to finish :P, Dream Theater ftw), so, when I started hearing what the guy was saying I was already near my destination, but I could hear him speaking of the end of times, that you should accept Jesus as your savior or you would burn in hell, and all that shit.
I was just laughing and hearing what he was saying, at some point he starts saying that people should watch certain movie (2012), that even if "it wasn't accurate" that might happen to us, but only if you accept Jesus as your savior you would be saved, I couldn't stop laughing at that point, he didn't notice tough, there was so many people at the bus that even I couldn't see him, I only heard him.
Seriously how people can still believe in that kind of things? I remember that I read about 2012 when I was like 16 or so, but it was more of a pseudo science book that explained what the mayas "knew" that would happen and why, it didn't say anything about the end of the world or anything, but rather about a "change", then moved a long and forgot about it, it wasn't anything special, I remember it talked about the electromagnetic fields and sunspots or something like that, interesting when I read it, and so different to what every nut now claims as truth. If this world is going to end is because of people like that, spreading the hate, intolerance and fear among people.
I tried to record him but the sound was awful, you can't understand much, maybe next time :P
Yeah, sad that humanity has so much potential, and it is squandered on superstition and willful ignorance...
