Podcasts...

So, i never tried podcasts until a few weeks ago, i thought that i wouldn't like them because i have always preferred to read instead of hearing (or rather hear something else while reading), even in school, but since i didn't had that much time thanks to work, i decided to give them a try and listen to something entertaining, how wrong was i for thinking that it would be boring, at first i started downloading some podcasts from Thethinkingatheist, wish were really nice, started hearing the first 1 and when i realized, i had already heard like 5 or 6 podcasts (more than an hour long each) without pause between them, it felt very nice, in 2 days i had already heard everything they had, so i decided to download from other sources, and i thought of downloading something that i could take more advantage for me and my career, and so the googling of psychology podcasts begun, after a little more than one hour i found 3 really nice and respected podcasting sites, it feels nice hearing from professionals that are up to date in their field and want to share with others their work and investigations. It is really amazing, all the info one can get these days from just a few clicks XD

  4. I have been meaning to listen to some podcasts(mostly from the youtube atheists I subscribe to haha), but I never have. Perhaps I will. And also, on another totally mistaken view on my part, I have always ignored them when I heard of them because it sounded to me like something having to do with apple(iPod), so I immediately dismissed it, even now that I now otherwise...

  5. But yes, the amounts of information out there is impressive! There really is no excuse for mentally stagnating. The problem is you have to seek it out, so most people don't.

  6. @mari well, you can get them from the podcaster (lol is that even a word?) website, iTunes or other programs like "juice", that would depend on the topic, but google is your friend :D.

@Angelica i only gave them a try because Sergio told me that there were some awesome videogames podcasts, and wanted to try something new. But i must say that if it wasn't for Sergio i probably wouldn't even have considered listening to them in the first place :P

@Chuy i had the same feeling, and even though i mainly download them from iTunes (the shows i found are there so i just put them to download :P), it does not requires an iPod or anything from apple, it is really a nice way of sharing information and knowledge.

@all thanks for the comments XD

  7. Well, most sites that offer podcasts also offer an RSS feed of said podcast, and there are software that will check on a feed URL and automatically download new episodes, so, in most cases, a manual download isn't even necessary :)
