Taking notes...

One of the things that I hated most when I was in school was taking notes, it was tedious, boring, and most of the times I could find better information in a book or anywhere else.

A few months ago I enrolled in Coursera.org to take some classes, and for the first time in my life I have been taking notes even though the classes are through videos and I can download the slides. This time I felt that I really needed since the classes are in English and I don't have the technical vocabulary for it, and the final exam of one of the courses will require filling some blank spaces with specific words that the teacher used, and since it will a closed book exam I need to remember the exact word :/

The classes that I am taking are Smart Growth for Private Businesses and Introduction to Finance, and they are pretty good.

I suck at titles...

So, here I am, trying to start my new post in the 365 project and I got stuck at the title, I suppose some things never change, though, I must admit that over this past months I have continued with many things that I was doing.

One of my biggest achievements over the last year is that I am working at least 5 days a week, and I don't want to stop doing it, so far I have dropped a little more than 17Kg, I am at the point where it isn't painful anymore, at least not as when I started, today I ran more than 2 Km without stopping, although, I usually run more than that, between 3 and 4 Km each day, but in 3 sessions.

Science is so fucking awesome

So, I have been reading a lot today about the Higgs boson or the Goddamn Particle (or God Particle) and trying to write about it (for another blog I have :P), so far, I still need to understand it a little more, though, it isn't supposed to be a technical post, more like an informative one.

Thanks to the efforts of scientist the explanation of the standard model of particle physics is near complete, this thing was explained back in the 60's with mathematical models and just today (4th of july 2012) was enough evidence to say that it might be right (a 99.999999% probability that the data is correct).

So, I wont get into details right now, I need to finish writing the other post and I'll share it on facebook.

Weird measures to make people vote

So, today was the election day for our next president, something I didn't know was going out in the city was that some franchises decided to offer things to people that voted, for example OXXO, a 7/11 like store offered free coffee to the people that voted and Las Alitas offered an order (or half, I don't remember) of free wings to every voter, I didn't go since we went to buy some food after voting (all the family went together), but we sure went for our free coffees, I was still pretty tired and sleepy after yesterday.

It really surprised me hearing that they were doing this, I was even more surprised with the people that was in the store, there was many people, mostly young and I even saw an old lady (like 70 or older), maybe this is wrong since people should go to vote because they want to, but lets be real here, most of the people in  Mexico don't even care, so I think this is a pretty damn good way of doing it.

And the coffee was actually good, not cafe good (or tenampa's good :P), but good non the less.

Overkill

So, yesterday I went to Sergio's house to play some Diablo III, I got there around 1 pm, and we just started playing, it was freaking challenging, I thought I would be back at home at around 6 pm, but since Sergio didn't go to school we stayed playing there, and since we were feeding our competitiveness we stopped until we finished the second act (the game has 4 acts), that was around 11 pm.

I had never played for so long, ever, but playing co-op is so damn funny, specially when your partner is as competitive as you, but, truth be told, I would never play for so long by myself, not even wow (since most of the times it is multi player), but this game, damn, I have been enjoying it since it came out (may 15), and since it isn't just go and kill everything (well, most of the time it is), we had to change constantly our strategies, balance between doing lots of damage or less damage and surviving longer, or doing lots of damage to groups or single target, getting to some special enemies and getting killed before even doing an attack, making them follow you while the other one attacks them, and some other things that happen in the game, all in all, it is a challenging game and very fun to play with friends, and we are not even in the hardest difficult yet.

[awesome title here]

So, third is the charm... or something like that :P, I missed this, just writing about what happened in my day, so lets continue with 365, although I don't know if we should continue with the count we had or start anew, I'm in whatever is the case.

So, as usual, I have been overworking myself, now more since Sergio, Michelle and I have been working in our game project. For the last month I have been working out too, and even though I feel tired most of the time, I feel like I can be more creative and have more energy than before.

Although, I have had a problem with that, since I don't really know anything of how I should work out properly, some days I just feel tired, other I just can't do anything since I am out all day, I have been working out at least 4 days a week, but it can either be in the morning or before going to sleep. But I'm changing that, today I wrote a schedule, my goals for the next month and a change on my diet, this time it's real, I want to do it right and not just do whatever I feel like doing that day, I really need to change my life style and this is the first step.

So yeah, I'm in to continue this project, I enjoy it and I will be here regularly.

P.S. I feel dizzy, I had this bottle of wine in here with less than half of it and I just drank it in one sip, it was good :D

I suck at drawing 4: Favorite place

I don't really have a favorite place, but I really like spending time in my house since I can do most things that I like, like cooking, playing video games, work, play video games, study, play video games, watch movies/series/documentaries, play video games... well you know :P
