Typical...

Typical Monday, working all day, I had a meeting at CAPSIC, the only difference, today I went to eat to Plaza Sendero, I went to Subway but they didn't have a terminal for my debit card so I had to go elsewhere, I ended eating a hamburger at an unknown local, I don't remember its name, I just know that it wasn't big kahuna, but it was a pretty tasty burger nonetheless XD. After that I came back to CAPSIC and waited for the meeting, nothing interesting here for the moment, it was just a typical Monday at work.

XNA...

So, I started to work with C# today with the XNA framework (focused in game development), this is a whole new level to me, so different from what I have been doing until now. I feel excited, but at the same time overwhelmed because I have to learn a lot of new things, so far I have only done a tutorial and was only following what it told me to do (most of the times I watch/read and adjust to what I am doing), I felt the difference between the Object Oriented Programming and what I was doing, hopefully it won't be that hard, but I feel that it will be, and if not, at least it will be a lot of work.

Updates...

So, today I spent some time updating my computer, I haven't updated Windows for a long time and it took me some hours to update Windows and Ubuntu too, I haven't used it in a few months mainly because I had no reason too, but I would like to start using it again. I had to uninstall some programs that I no longer use that were using space that I might need for other things, a lot of games had to go (but I can download them again from steam if I want to play), backed up some things to get some more space and cleaned many folders from things that I no longer use and won't be using any more.

Now I just need to scan for viruses, back up some things, defragment my hard disk, and do a few more things. but I'll finish tomorrow, I'll leave it this night defragmenting.

Obsolete...

Have you ever seen something so obsolete that you can only facepalm?

Well, I have had this problem for a test here in CAPSIC, the 16-fp (16 personality factors), the test isn't obsolete, but to evaluate this test I have to use a program that was included in the package that included the test manual of application, the answer sheets, and other things. This is a 2007 version of the test, and the only way to evaluate it is with a software... included in a floppy disk.

Can you believe it? A floppy disk... in 2011 from a software from 2007, seriously, how can this be? I haven't used floppy's since 2001 (I used rw-cd's), they are unreliable and easy to break, we tried copying the content from the floppy to a usb, but unfortunately the floppy serves as a security measure, so we can't use it. I looked for a floppy in my house, and I couldn't find any, I have like 10 or more computers in my house (most of them no longer work I think) and none of it had a floppy drive and now I need to find a computer that has one or forget about this test.

The Binding of Isaac...

...and they say that he grew up to become an engineer...

So, I still can't play games like I did some time ago, still I sometimes take a break and enjoy a few minutes of gameplay, this week I have been playing The Binding of Isaac. A game with the dungeon style of the original Legend of Zelda, the difference is that it is more like a shooter. You control Isaac, a kid who is running from his mother who wants to kill him because "god" asked her to sacrifice him as proof of her fate.

When Isaac learned about this he tried to run from his room, but there was no escape, except the basement, he got into the basement to run from his mom... it doesn't have a long story, but the little they show is pretty good and religious driven (showing the crazy part of religion :P). 

I have really enjoyed this game, not too hard, not too easy, can get pretty hardcore sometimes, but very enjoyable :P

Passport...

Since I received my check this week (I get paid monthly -.-) from CAPSIC I decided to get my Visa, first I need my passport though. So I got to the "Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores" website to see what I need and well, they didn't ask for much :P, the problem though was when I wanted to schedule a date to begin the process.

Ok, first I must admit that I screwed for not checking where it was, I only wrote my postal code and assumed that it selected Juarez, but I was wrong, it selected Chihuahua, Chihuahua :P, I didn't notice at first, I was a little more worried that the dates were for 2012. After reading a document they sent me to check if my data was right I saw that it said Chihuahua Chihuahua >.<

I went to the website again and got a new date, but now I selected Juarez, and oh joy, I scheduled a new date for December, still a long time for it, but at least it wont be next year :P

Feeling...

Have you ever felt that some one is looking at you?

Today, while I was on my way home I was walking in the street and saw a group 3 of guys with cholo aspect, I felt a chill on my spine and my heart beat went up a little. When I walk alone I try to look like I am not watching the people, or like I am a little distracted, but in reality I am always watching everything I can to the point that I sometimes feel paranoiac, I have always watched my back because I know this city isn't secure, and ever since I was robbed I can't seem to relax while I am walking alone, I look every few seconds to my back to be sure no one is near me.

I always try to walk at full speed and I am ready to start running if I have to. When I saw this guys I was talking about I felt uncomfortable, I didn't heard a thing they were saying, but right when I passed them two of them started walking near me, I went to the other side of the street and they went too, I removed my headphones to hear if they got near me and I could hear that they were near me, but they weren't getting closer.

I don't really know if they were following me or not, but I would rather not take a chance to confirm that, I prefer to be a little paranoiac than to be robbed again, the last time I was lucky I didn't get hurt, but next time I can't be sure how it will end.
